TheFifth International Conference on Technology in Mathematics Teaching (ICTMT 5)
will be held at the University of Klagenfurt; Aug 6-9, 2001.
Within this conference a number of special groups and working groups are organized.

The concept of visualization is often used. Papers in mathematics and mathematics education argue, that visualization is a central task of modern mathematics education. Therefore it seems useful, to examine this concept. We invite you to submit a paper describing examples of practical visualization or more theoretical deliberations to this topic.

Some interesting questions could be (suggestion):

  • Visualization from the point of cognitive psychology
  • What is an image in mathematics?
  • Geometry an visualization
  • New technologies - new images?

Any contributions, ideas and suggestions are welcome! If you are interested then contact the chair as soon as possible.
