Functional Laryngology - Quiz Program
The submitted program focuses on the larynx and the speech organs. It can be described as an patient simulation program, and is aimed at students of medicine. The program is problem-based and the stud dents encounter a patient, which the student has to deal with and suggest a course of action to obtain the correct diagnose.The host program is Macromedia Director.This program is part of a series of programs tentatively called "Functional Laryngology", which will eventually comprise 9 areas, and one of them, "Laryngeal disorders", has been in use for a few months as an integral part of medical st udents" training at Malm– University Hospital. This program includes text, images of pathological conditions, as well as sound recordings and analyses of hoarse voices drawn from "Laryngeal disorders" . The Swedish Council of Renewal of Undergraduate Education in conjunction with the Medical Faculty of the University of Lund, have supported the project financially.
