RuckZuck for Microsoft Windows, Teachware in structural anal

The program RuckZuck is designed primarily as a teaching program for engineering andarchitecture students and others, who are interested in structural analysis. The program was developed as a part of a a diploma- thesis supervised by two institutes with the topic "Teachware in structural analysis".A structural analysis computer program with modern graphical user interface was developed, that can be a pplied in practicals or tutorioals and is available to the students as a teaching aid.The aim of the teachware is, to allow the user to experiment on different types of structures tomodify this struct ure, to apply different loads and to interactively observe the results such asbending moment, shear force, normal force diagrams and influence lines. For the interactionwith the statical system tools are available such as hinges, half-hinges and supports. Thefollowing load types have been implemented: concentrated loads, distributed loads, temperatureand lack of fit.It is possible at the press of a mouse- button to display the deformed shape of a structure underdifferent loading. The program will produce an error message, if the system is unstable. With this program performing structural analys is becomes as easy and fascinating as using acomputer game.
